Elaboration

Hello,

My name is Joyce, an artist who has relinquished ammunition for the sake of a more complex profession in life – and thus starves for the appropriate outlet. I attend college as a pre-med student, otherwise a biological sciences major and chemistry minor, who aspires to be a gynecologist if given the opportunity. Although I show immense passion in reading, writing, photography, web design, graphic design, dance, music and art, I aspire to do good in the community. Otherwise, I may just work at the zoo. That is not to say that my former statement implies that any of the arts I have listed does not do good for the community, for I strongly believe all of the above have an intense impact on the well-being of society. My intentions in the science and/or medical field, howbeit, reaches out in a different aspect which I favor slightly more.

On the side, I love to travel. To travel means to remove oneself from an area which psychologically harbors ill-feelings from past baggage, and that is very therapeutic in itself (I found this especially so when I had to go to a research conference in Washington D.C..) In the past, I’ve flown overseas to Brazil, Europe and South Africa with various study abroad programs. This means that I have gone on vacations without the fear of nagging family members, which is a plus; however, I do miss the family connection when on vacation. Despite the mileage, I don’t have to travel too far to get the better edge of my sanity. Companionship is a strong factor as well.

I do enjoy the company of friends on that note. While I am genuinely introverted, I manage my social life by trying my best to cling to friends of the past and make new ones in the present with great agony. I feel that my upbringing has led me to think like this, coming from a disciplined and traditional Asian family. While I feel that I may be difficult to befriend in some cases, I think the warmer side of me is more likened to be extroverted in due time. Perhaps that’s why I enjoy the comfort of the world wide web and my little niche to post my thoughts. I’m not too much trouble though; I love escaping the confinement of my own house, being spontaneous, going out to dance or drinking with good friends.

Well, that’s all that I can think to say right now. Maybe I will edit this another time with other highlights.
